Inspired by wavy:

You Are A: Bear Cub!

bear cubBears are strong and independent creatures who roam in the forest in search of food. Bears are usually gentle, but anger one and be prepared for their full fury! You won't back down from a fight -- a classic attribute of bears. Intelligent and resourceful, though lazy at times, you are a fascinating creature of the wild.

I just felt the need to link to this review to remind people again of what a truly terrible movie Revenge of the Sith was.

Everyone is the hero of their own story. Even Darkseid, the Jack Kirby comic book character on whom Darth Vader is based, was a hero in his own eyes. Revenge of the Sith was billed as the story of a good person who turns bad. But Anakin is an action figure who puts on a black cape. We are told that Anakin turns to the dark side because he loves Amandala, but almost immediately he forgets all about her. There is a hint that he lusts for power, but we never see that. In the final analysis, the reason he turns to evil is that in A New Hope he is evil. Predestination.

It's 2:40am Sunday morning, (but it's still Saturday as far as I'm concerned) and I'm at a Pita Pit. I just got out of a place called Level, which is I guess a dance club, not that I dance.

This was my first time at (what I consider to be) an electronica show and it was fucking AWESOME!!! I've liked electronica for a while, including electronic dance music. This is odd because I really can't dance. By which I mean I am utterly unable to dance.

Being at a live set finally made me understand why I like the stuff. Because I can stop thinking. Otherwise my brain never shuts off. So right now I'm a rather relaxed Doom. And I'm going to eat my club pita now. R0xx0r

6:01 pm - I present!
The Larkspur!

Pretty cool, eh? My lungs, nuts and quads are hating it. But they'll get used to it.

Lifted weights for the first time in a month or two. Really, a month or two. I lifted once when I still worked at the Portland City Grill, in my second week if memory serves. I've cardio'd a few times since then but now I'm a liftin' agin!

Yay.

Tomorrow I hafta be to work at 10am for a 250 person cruise. A private cruise that's only 2 hours long so I'm hoping it's a light buffet. Dunno yet, tho.

Got registered for classes today. That'll be a bitch of a bike ride. Bleagh. I think I'll bus that shit, yo.

I have night classes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I have afternoon classes as well Tuesday and Thursday. My financial aid is churning through the system. I talked to someone at the PCC Financial Aid office who said that they're working on the March applications (I applied in May, yikes).

The surest sign of the imminent doom of the United States is the buffet restaurant (formerly known as the smorgasbord, but that word is entirely too long for the redneck lowlifes that populate these establishments).

Dad was in town last night and thus, there was free food to be had. Unfortunately said free food would be supplied by Hometown Buffet, where quantity trumps quality every time. This was the already established plan of one of my aunt/uncle pairs who apparently congregate with their spawn and grandspawn at this particular sign of the apocalypse.

To the foreigners who (theoretically) read my LJ from time to time, well, buffet restaurants are bad. It's pretty much like pigs at a trough, except these pigs are bipedal with opposable thumbs with supposedly makes them a higher form of life. Me, I doubt that. The pigs don't know any better, these humans should have better judgement.

There was a super fat guy there with his family wearing a shirt that said (I shit you not) "Big Daddy". I bet he thinks that's funny. I swear the wasted food could keep a central African village going for a few days.

Wait, did I say food? No, the term "food" implies some level of quality, a certain sense of, oh, edibility. Not this shit. This shit was like oversalted cat food. I swear the food at boot camp was better than the shit these NASCAR-watching Bush-voting lowlifes were shoveling down their gaping maws.

We're doomed. Really.

I'm sitting outside a Starbucks (the messenger bag was where I was sitting before I got up to take the pic) in Pioneer Courthouse Square on a Personal TelCo node waiting for it to be time to go to work. The Sunday bus will drop me off either 45 min. early or 15 min. late. Being the dope I am, I choose early.

Okay, I'm going.

Did I mention that Funky Chicken joined the army? What a stupid motherfucker.

Eye of the Storm

You scored 44%

You recognize the currents and eddies of chaos around you without becoming swept away by it. A good mix of order and disorder, you know how to keep an internal balance between spontaneity and planning. You have a good sense of distance when helping your friends to resolve drama, and usually don't end up getting sucked into it. Your predominating element is probably air.

Another test! Weee!!!!

Assassin

You are an
assassin.

That means you are a proffessional and do your
job without mixing any emotions in it. In your
life you have probably been hurt many times and
have gotten some mental scars. This results in
you being distant from people. Though many
think that you are evil, you are not. What you
really are is a person, trying to forget your
pain and past. You are the person who never
seems to care and that is why being an assassin
fits you good. Atleast, that's what people
think. Even if you don't care that much for
your victims, you still have the ability to
care and to generally feel. It is not lost,
just a little forgotten. In crowds you tend to
not get to noticed, and dress in black or other
discrete colours. You don't being in the
spotlight and wish people would just leave you
alone. But once you do get close to someone you
have a hard time letting go and get real down
if you loose him/her.

Waiting for laundry to finish so I can go to Saturday Market for breakfast. Probably really horrible food for breakfast, there's a stand that sells spring rolls and hum baus that I hit half the time I go there. With a 20oz Pepsi (prolly Mountain Dew today, I just finished The Whiteboard's archives again) to wash it down. Mmmmmm. Fuck you, stomach lining.

Last night I hung out with some of the shitholers. Bouncy, Wacky and KC and one other. We started at the restaurant Bouncy's boyfriend owns with his family. It was cool, good Chinese food (oh, that's right, I have leftover Mongolian beef!). Went to another bar near KC and her wife's house. That was dead. Then Bouncy and the other one got talked into going back to KC's house which spelled doom for the night. It wasn't bad there, I'd just have rather been at a bar or someplace with other people.

Didn't spend as much money as I was afraid I was gonna. Maybe $30.

No idea what's going on today. I've got to cook this recipe I've been trying to cook for months. After that, I dunno. No movies out I want to see that I haven't already. I suppose I could watch one of the three movies I got a few weeks ago. And cook. And work on my other project while I'm waiting for feedback on the one I have posted.

Oh, yeah, the URLs to the PDFs.

11:42 am - As promised
I was going to put up a link to the rough draft but iDisk is being a cunt so you're gonna hafta wait until I can figure out why it's triggering a "do you want to save or open this file?" pop up in Opera and Firefox.

In other news, I really don't like The Decembrists' singer's voice.

EDIT: Man, I don't fucking know what's going on with this piece of shit.
Here, it might work, it might not. If it asks you if it wants to save or open just select open, unless you want to save it. Firefox and Opera do it, Safari and IE don't. It's probably not an iDisk problem, the so-called good browsers are probably just trying to be fucking fancy pants. I'm gonna take a break then make some PDFs of the thing, some of the parts are fairly long and I think reading them on a browser might turn out to be a pain in the ass.

Right now I'm fucking pissed at computers and hungry so it'll hafta wait.

Keep in mind it's a rough draft. Don't come at me with typos and stuff. I don't think I even ran spell check on the last part. Also, there are some spots where I couldn't remember the name of something (a place, usually) and I wasn't sure if I'd named it and forgotten or hadn't named it yet. For example in the last part I couldn't recall the name of the province the story is taking place in, so I just called it PROVINCE where the name should have been used. I'll fix that in revisions.

Feedback encouraged, please comment before you start reading.
